If you want some good grub that is easy and not too
expensive, do the following.
Get the following from the store:
1 lb. your favorite bologna
1 lb. boiled ham
1 lb. pickle & pimento loaf
1 lb. old fashioned loaf
1 lb. pepper loaf
1 lb. hot pepper cheese
Get all of these sliced 16 slices to the pound. Packaged
works just fine, we usually use Dinner Bell brand here, but
other packaged brands work fine, as do deli cold cuts, but
they are usually more expensive.
Get a new roll of aluminum foil.
Get 16 6" sub or hoagie rolls. I like the soft ones with
the seeds on top.
Cut all of the slices of meat in half. Cut the slices of
cheese in half.
Open up the rolls and lay them on the counter top. Place 2
half slices of EACH type of meat and 2 half slices of the
cheese so that they cover the hoagie roll and overlap as
needed in the middle of the roll. Put the tops of the rolls
on.
Tear appropriate sizes of aluminum foil and wrap each
sandwich in a butcher wrap and place the sandwiches in the
refrigerator.
When you are ready to eat, take out 1 or 2 sandwiches and
place them in a pre-heated oven and heat them for 15
minutes. Remove from oven and serve. Caution: cheese will
be HOT.
They will last for at least a week and a half and I have had
them last 2 weeks once prepared and refrigerated.
C&R content? They are great and quick after a long
afternoon or evening in the shop cleaning the <redacted> toys!
