Irish breakfast a la skroo:

Ingredients:
- 1 Black Pudding
- 2 Lamb's Kidneys
- 4 Eggs
- Mushrooms, perhaps a cupful.
- Bacon (REAL bacon, not the silly little strips you get in the US)
- Tea, and lots of it.

- Oil and butter (NOT margarine) for frying and sauteeing.

Method:
- Cut the black pudding into slices about as thick as your little finger and fry
until slightly crispy on the top and bottom. It should be warm and tender in
  the middle.
- Fry up the bacon. Bacon is not meant to be crispy to the point of shattering
when you place it on a plate; it should be cooked but retain some flexibility.

At this point, dump the oil from the skillet and set the black pudding and bacon
aside to drain. Turn them once in a while to get all of the oil off.

- Slice open kidneys and remove cartilage, etc. Sautee until cooked, which is
usually when blood stops running out of them.
- Eggs: cook to preference. Scrambled is good but fried (not over-easy) is more
authentic. Poached is right out, although hard-boiled is acceptable if in a
  separate egg cup.
- Mushrooms: again, sautee until cooked - a little soft and crinkled-looking, but
  firm to the touch.

Pile the whole lot on a couple of plates and serve with toast and tea. This will
easily keep you going until lunchtime, and has the wonderful side effect of knocking
hangovers at least into submission if not out completely.

- skroo.
