Gulab Jamun (Indian sweet)

Ingredients :
1/4 cup white flour
1 cup milk powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup water
ghee, for frying
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 tablespoon Rose water (change amt acco. to taste)

Method :
Mix the milk powder, flour and baking soda well. Add water
and make dough.(Be very careful while adding water.Since it's
milk powder, a little extra water would make the dough very soggy)
Set aside for 1/2. Prepare sugar water by adding sugar to water and
boiling till sugar is completely dissolved.Add a little rose water
for flavour.

Rub a little ghee onto palms and make 1/2 inch balls from the dough
which was prepared earlier. Heat ghee in a frying pan. Deep fry the
balls till golden brown.(Careful - the balls become dark brown very
fast. Keep moving them while they are in the ghee).

After removing from frying pan place the balls directly into the
sugar water prepared earlier. Keep for 2 hrs ie. till the balls nicely
soak in the water. The balls would have become much larger in size.

Ready to eat.

Options : You can refrigerate it and eat, some people like to eat it
cold.

If you don't get ghee, you can use butter instead. If you are going to
use butter for deep frying, heat the required amount of butter on slow
fire till the butter completely melts. Do not use high fire as it burns
the butter.
