It didn't take much talking for her to lend me the original recipe,
however, it is a generic recipe and she refuses to give me her copy of
the nuclear sunset cornbread. So cheers to the Mama for lending the
recipe itself, if not her secrets :)
Jalapeno Cornbread:
-----------------------------
3 cups cornbread mix
2 cups milk
1/2 cup oil (vegetable/olive or what takes you at the moment)
3 eggs, beaten
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
4 slices crisp bacon, crumbled
3 tablespoon sugar
1 cup canned cream style corn
1/2 cup chopped jalapenos
1-1/2 cups grated Cheddar cheese (sharp is tastiest)
1 jar (2 ounces) pimiento
Mix all ingredients together; pour into a 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350 for
about 30-40 minutes or until brown.
(the original recipe was contributed by Mrs. Bonnie Ken Moyer)

I'm still trying to coax the 'nuclear sunset' recipe from the Mama; she's
so damn stubborn but rest assured when I get the additional recipe, so
will you. :)
On another note, if anyone wants a recipe for a good 12 serving of Hush
Puppies from my padre's home of Virginia, lemme know and I'll send it to
ya off list.
To encrypt or not to encrypt.... will I be arrested by the spooks for my
cornbread?
